Here’s a fun one. One prompt gets you a finished, printable checklist you can drop in a bug-out bag (or hand to your email list as a freebie).

Text Is Finally Branching Out!

Not long ago, if you wanted readable words inside an AI image you had one or two models you could somewhat count on, and everything else handed you something that looked like on a drunken bender after deployments (just kidding I never wrote during those). That’s definitely changing, and it seems it’s finally starting to pick up some speed. I ran this exact prompt through three different models and every one of them spelled all 12 items correctly, nailed the title and drew a usable notes box. No gibberish anywhere. (Yes, I checked every box. Literally.)

Same Prompt, Three Models

I used GPT, Nano Banana Pro and Seedream, and cost-wise that’s the order from most expensive to cheapest.

GPT followed the prompt the closest of the three. Title case items, three ruled lines, exactly what I asked for. It also drew what’s basically a small forest around the border, so your printer will use a little more in on this one.

Nano gave me the most commercial look, with a bold clean font and chunky checkboxes. It reads like something you’d find on an Etsy shelf.

Seedream is my favorite (output on this one), and it’s the cheapest one. It did take a couple of liberties, setting every item in all caps even though I wrote them in title case, and it gave me two ruled lines instead of three. But I personally like the look of it the most, and it’s the lightest on print ink.

So for this kind of job, at least, you don’t need the premium tier. Full disclosure though, the budget option runs a little looser with instructions, so give the details a once-over before you print 50 copies.

The Ratio Thing

The prompt says US Letter and the these generators ignored that completely as it is a setting in the platform I was using for making them. My first round came back tall and skinny. This was my fault because I actually set it to 2:3. Setting the ratio to 3:4 in the generator’s settings is what you should set it at if you want a typical printer paper size ratio.

QUICK TIP: keep the labels short. I ran it at 12 items and all three models held, so don’t try to cram a 40-item packing list onto one page (or better yet give it a shot, but know it might not work). Match the border to the topic too, so snowflakes for a winter power outage list or water drops for a water storage plan. And leave that last line alone if you like your ink cartridges.

What To Do With It

Print one for your own bag, or build a handful on different topics and give them away as an opt-in freebie. A good checklist is one of those things people keep, which is more than you can say for most lead magnets.
