Digital paper is one of those quiet Etsy sellers. Scrapbookers, junk journalers, card makers and teachers buy it in themed packs, and a pack is just a handful of patterns that repeat.
The catch is the word “seamless.” The tile has to join up edge to edge so it can cover a page of any size without a visible line where the copies meet.
Here’s the prompt from my toolbox.
A seamless repeating pattern tile for digital paper, square, flat and edge to edge. Motifs: small red mushrooms, ferns, acorns and tiny white wildflowers, scattered evenly with no big gaps. Style: hand-drawn woodland illustration with soft muted colors on a warm cream background. The pattern must tile seamlessly, so any motif that runs off one edge continues on the opposite edge. No border, no frame, no text, no shadows, no mockup.

That’s one 2048 x 2048 tile copied four times. Mushrooms, ferns, acorns and tiny wildflowers running right across the joins.
Make It Yours!
Swap the brackets and go.
A seamless repeating pattern tile for digital paper, square, flat and edge to edge. Motifs: [3-4 SMALL MOTIFS], scattered evenly with no big gaps. Style: [STYLE] with [COLOR FEEL] on a [BACKGROUND COLOR] background. The pattern must tile seamlessly, so any motif that runs off one edge continues on the opposite edge. No border, no frame, no text, no shadows, no mockup.
A few themes to get you started:
- Lemons, leaves and blossoms on soft blue
- Tiny pumpkins, apples and maple leaves on cream
- Christmas cookies and candy canes on red
- Baby chicks and eggs on pale yellow for a spring pack
Run it four or five times with the same style line and a different set of motifs, and you have a matching pack.
The Line You Should Not Touch!
“The pattern must tile seamlessly, so any motif that runs off one edge continues on the opposite edge.”
Leave that one alone. It tells the generator exactly what seamless means instead of hoping it knows.
Full Disclosure
Always check the tile before you sell it. Put four copies side by side in Canva or any editor and look at the middle where they meet. Mine came out clean, but generators don’t always nail it, and a seam is the first thing a buyer will notice.
Size matters, too. A lot of digital paper sells at 12 x 12 inches at 300 DPI, which is 3600 pixels, so run your tile through an upscaler before you package it. If you like this kind of thing, the watercolor clipart set prompt makes a great companion pack.
Selling These?
A paper pack sells better with content behind it, like listings, blog posts and emails. That’s where my PLR shop comes in: done-for-you content you can put your name on and use as your own.
Go make a pack. Then try not to wallpaper your whole desktop with it. 😊
