Every list collects people who stopped opening. Cleaning them out keeps your delivery healthy, but it’s worth one friendly try to win them back first.
This prompt from my toolbox writes the whole win-back sequence: a check-in, a freebie and an honest last call.
Write a 3-email win-back sequence for subscribers who haven't clicked anything in 90 days.
My list: content creators who buy PLR and AI prompt packs
What I send: AI prompts, PLR tips and product deals
Free thing I can offer: a free PLR ebook from my shop
What happens if they don't respond: I remove them from the list after email 3
Email 1: a friendly "still want these?" check-in with one click to stay.
Email 2: send them the free ebook and remind them what they signed up for.
Email 3: a plain, honest "last call" that tells them they'll be removed, with no guilt trip.
For each email give me 2 subject lines and an email under 150 words. Write like a real person, not a brand. No fake urgency and no invented stats.
I ran it in Gemini. It came back with all three emails, two subject lines each, and every one of them read like a person cleaning up their list instead of a brand begging. Some of the subject lines:
- Email 1: “Checking in (are we still a good fit?)”
- Email 2: “I made this for you (free PLR)”
- Email 3: “Goodbye (for now)”
The last call was the best of the three. It told them plainly they’d be removed, said they didn’t need to do anything, and left the door open to come back.
Make It Yours!
Swap in your list, your freebie and what happens to the people who don’t answer.

My list: [WHO THEY ARE]
What I send: [WHAT YOUR EMAILS ARE ABOUT]
Free thing I can offer: [A FREEBIE, OR "nothing"]
What happens if they don't respond: [REMOVE THEM / TAG THEM / MOVE THEM TO A SLOWER LIST]
Email 1: a friendly "still want these?" check-in with one click to stay.
Email 2: send them the free thing and remind them what they signed up for.
Email 3: a plain, honest "last call" that tells them what happens next, with no guilt trip.

The Line You Should Not Touch!
“Email 3: a plain, honest ‘last call’ that tells them what happens next, with no guilt trip.”
Leave that one alone. “We’ll miss you 😢” emails make people feel bad on their way out, and that’s not how you want to be remembered.
Full Disclosure
It invented a timeline, saying I’d remove people “in a couple of days.” Put your real schedule in, and keep it consistent across all three emails.
Base “inactive” on clicks, not opens. Apple Mail and some privacy settings make opens unreliable, so a lot of people who look inactive by opens are still reading. Need fresh subscribers to replace them? The 5-day email course prompt builds you a lead magnet.
Need Something To Win Them Back With?
The freebie does the heavy lifting here. That’s where my PLR shop comes in: done-for-you content you can put your name on and use as your own.
Go clean the list. Smaller and awake beats big and asleep.
