Black Friday is the one weekend your list actually expects a sale from you. Three emails is plenty: a heads-up, a “sale is open” and a last day.
Here’s the prompt from my toolbox that drafts all three in one run, and without the big box store energy.
Write a 3-email Black Friday sequence for my small online shop.
What I sell: printable homestead planners and garden journals (PDF downloads)
My offer: 30% off everything in the shop from Friday November 27 through Monday November 30
My reader: home gardeners and homesteaders who are already on my email list
Email 1 goes out Thursday night as a heads-up. Email 2 goes out Friday morning when the sale opens. Email 3 goes out Monday morning as the last day.
For each email give me a subject line, a preview line, and the email itself, under 200 words. Write it like a real person talking to people they know, not a big box store. No fake scarcity, no countdown timers, no invented testimonials and no made-up numbers. If you need a detail about me or my products that I didn't give you, leave a [BRACKET] instead of inventing it.
I ran it in Gemini. It came back with all three, each with a subject line, a preview line and a short email. The subject lines it wrote:
- Thursday night: “A little heads-up for tomorrow”
- Friday morning: “The garden sale is open (30% off)”
- Monday morning: “Last day to save 30%”
Plain, friendly and clear about the offer. It even put the discount code and the shop link in [BRACKETS] for me to fill in, like I asked.
Make It Yours!
Swap in your products, your offer and your list.
Write a 3-email Black Friday sequence for my small online shop.
What I sell: [YOUR PRODUCTS]
My offer: [THE DISCOUNT AND THE EXACT DATES]
My reader: [WHO IS ON YOUR LIST]

The Line You Should Not Touch!
“No fake scarcity, no countdown timers, no invented testimonials and no made-up numbers.”
Leave that one alone. Without it you get “ONLY 3 LEFT!” on a PDF that never runs out. (Fake urgency can also get you in trouble with the FTC.)
Full Disclosure
Check the dates. Mine said I was helping readers get organized for 2021. The AI guessed the year, so read every date and year before you send.
It also wrote that the sale ends “at midnight tonight,” which I never told it, and slipped in “I created these tools because they’re exactly what I use.” Make sure your end time is real and every “I” line is true for you. Need a list to send these to? The 5-day email course prompt builds you a lead magnet.
Need Something To Sell?
No products for the sale yet? That’s where my PLR shop comes in: done-for-you content you can put your name on and use as your own.
Go write the sequence. Then go eat your leftovers while it sends.
